Campus mental health research funding
Two new research projects have recently been awarded funding as part of the Melbourne Children's Mental Health Strategy goal to support innovative, aligned studies that complement and extend our work across the strategy.
Consistent with our ethos of promoting the voice of people with lived and living experience of mental ill-health and recovery, we adopted a shared decision-making model for this grant call.
We were delighted to receive 12 initial expressions of interest and after a shortlisting meeting with lived experience and professional experts, six projects progressed to the final application stage.
The following projects will receive funding in 2024-2025 to deliver their research:
A/Professor Maria McCarthy and colleaguesInteractions that hurt or heal: Patient and parent perceptions of healthcare conflict, mental health impacts and preferences for intervention.
A/Professor Rebecca Giallo and colleagues
Co-design of an evidence-informed approach to promote the mental health of children living with disabilities and chronic health conditions on the Melbourne Children’s Campus.
We would to thank everyone who applied or participated in the decision-making process. For more information, please contact CMHS@mcri.edu.au.
