Annette Graham

Mental Health Research Assistant

Murdoch Children’s Research Institute

Annette is a talented researcher with a plethora of experience and qualifications. She holds a PhD in Nursing and Health Sciences and wrote her thesis on, “The Delivery and Receipt of Mental Illness Information in Australia”. Annette has worked in a variety of mental health related roles, including her role as Biostatistician for Monash University, and Suicide Prevention Research Officer for the State Coroner’s Office.

Annette says:

My primary interest is in leveraging research to improve the lives of those with mental health issues. Much of my early work focused on suicide prevention thus I am acutely aware of the negative impacts and outcomes that too regularly result from un- or poorly treated mental illnesses. I am excited to be working on the Campus Mental Health Strategy as there many research projects within this strategy designed specifically to identify early children/adolescents who have mental health issues and open pathways into quality services for them.

What keeps me busy outside work? I have two energetic kids, a 16-year-old boy (Coulton) and 11-year-old girl (Jasmine). And I am presently attempting to learn to communicate in Chinese (mandarin). I have long way to go with this!”
