Education

We're committed to providing education programs that foster expertise, innovation, and compassion, while preparing our staff to lead the way in children's mental health care.

Making mental health everyone's business starts with an education program that enhances staff knowledge, skills, and confidence in caring for children, young people, and their families.

Based within the University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, our multidisciplinary education team supports the development of and facilitates a wide range of programs and resources accessible to both campus staff and the wider paediatric healthcare community.

These resources include eLearn modules, podcasts, face-to-face courses, written materials, webinars, and clinical practice guidelines. Our approach emphasises evidence-based practices, focused on boosting staff confidence and competence around mental health and wellbeing.

Education covers areas like trauma-informed care, family centred care, and anxiety management, with flexible learning formats to cater to diverse preferences and schedules. We provide tailored resources for various staff categories, from specialist mental health clinicians to non-clinical staff, and we offer introductory courses through to specialised programs.

By actively engaging staff and collaborating with existing education teams, our education team aims to embed these practices effectively, ultimately supporting positive mental health outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
