Cherie Wallace

Senior Project Officer Trauma Informed Preventative Care, RCH
Cherie has been a Registered Nurse for 22 years, including working at the RCH for 15 years, 4 years working abroad in the Middle East and much of her nursing career working in the Emergency Department where I worked in all roles within the department. I spent 2.5 years working as a Clinical Nurse Consultant with Comfort Kids supporting, advising and educating staff, children and families in procedural pain management and sedation. Since becoming a mother I have worked in the Short stay unit at RCH and more recently in the Day Medical Unit.
Cherie has a passion for improving/acknowledging and supporting the mental health of children, families and staff - it really is everyone's business. Her belief and hope is that the Strategy can deliver and embed a Trauma Informed Preventative Care model into The RCH.
