The Melbourne Children’s Campus Mental Health Strategy has lodged a submission to the Federal Parliamentary Inquiry into the relationship between domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) and suicide.

Drawing on an Australian first evidence-based Clinical Practice Guideline on Suicide and Non-suicidal Self-injury (NSSI) in Children and Adolescents, the submission calls for DFSV to be formally recognised as a core driver of suicide risk in children, alongside urgent reform in trauma-informed workforce training, family-centred care, and lived-experience co-production to strengthen prevention and early intervention.
