Suicide and Non-suicidal Self-injury in Children and Adolescents: Evidence-based Clinical Practice Guideline

We have developed Australia's first clinical practice guideline for the identification, assessment, and management of suicide and non-suicidal self-injury in young people aged 0-19 years.

The Suicide and Non-suicidal Self-injury in Children and Adolescents: Evidence-based Clinical Practice Guideline supports health and non-health professionals in healthcare, education, and community settings to deliver safe, timely, and developmentally appropriate care.

The guideline was informed by the best available evidence, as well as clinical and lived experience. It was developed in partnership with clinicians, researchers, young people and carers from across Australia and reflects a shared commitment to improving outcomes for young people experiencing suicide and NSSI.

This guideline has been approved by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

You There? by Jeanette Chan (she/they)
Jeanette said, "The artwork appears to have the word 'HELP' collaged on it, but it actually says 'HELR'. This small but significant detail symbolises the difficulty folks face in seeking help. Yet, what I've perceived to be my most incomprehensible innermost thoughts have somehow always found a home in others. May you be one of the many outstretched hands ready and waiting to walk alongside folks as they reach out for support on their journey".
