Behaviour Support Profile eLearn

The Behaviour Support Profile (BSP) is a tool in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that documents a patient’s communication needs, sensory sensitivities, and coping strategies to support safer, smoother, trauma-informed preventative care.

We've developed an eLearn to build staff understanding of the BSP in the EMR and how the tool can be used to help ensure every interaction at the RCH goes smoothly, with less distress for children, young people, families, and staff.

The eLearn is based on the Parkville EMR BSP tip sheet and covers:

  • What the BSP is and why it matters
  • Who the BSP is for
  • Who can create a BSP in the EMR
  • How to find, start, complete, save, and review a BSP in the EMR
  • How to use the BSP across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings

RCH staff with access to the EMR can complete the training now on LearningHERO.
